Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) has reached a major milestone in its commitment to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, surpassing its goal of raising $10 million in 10 years, and accomplishing it in just seven years.
The achievement came three years ahead of schedule and represents the collective efforts of TKE chapters, alumni, collegiate members, and supporters across the fraternity. Through fundraising events, individual donations, campus initiatives, and community outreach, TKE raised more than $10 million for St. Jude and demonstrated the impact that a national brotherhood can have when united behind a common mission.
This summer, approximately 140 TKE members traveled to Memphis, Tennessee, to celebrate the milestone and experience firsthand the mission their fundraising has supported.
During the trip, members visited St. Jude and learned more about the legacy of its founder, Danny Thomas, a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. Members were able to connect years of fundraising efforts with the work being done to advance research and treatment for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Reaching the $10 million milestone in only seven years made the Memphis experience particularly meaningful. What began as an ambitious decade-long commitment became a goal achieved three years early because of the dedication of TKE members and chapters across the country.
For the Tau Eta Chapter at Southern Connecticut State University, the experience provided renewed motivation to continue supporting St. Jude through philanthropy, fundraising, and community engagement. Surpassing the goal does not mark the end of TKE’s commitment; instead, it provides an opportunity to build upon the fraternity’s success and continue increasing its impact.
The gathering in Memphis also demonstrated the strength of TKE’s national brotherhood. Approximately 140 members from different chapters and communities came together not simply to celebrate a fundraising number, but to recognize the children and families at the center of the fraternity’s efforts.
More than $10 million. Seven years. Three years ahead of schedule.
The milestone represents what Tau Kappa Epsilon can accomplish through brotherhood, service, and a shared commitment to a cause greater than any individual chapter. As TKE moves beyond its original $10 million goal, its support for St. Jude and its mission continues.
