Join the SCSU Information Technology Help Desk during Week of Welcome for an interactive cybersecurity challenge that tests your ability to identify phishing attempts, suspicious emails, and legitimate communications.
Participants will review a series of real-world email examples and decide whether each message is Legitimate or Phishing. Points are awarded based on accuracy, and bonus points can be earned by completing common technology setup activities with IT staff.
Scoring
• Correct Answer: +1 Point
• Incorrect Answer: -1 Point
Bonus Point Opportunities
• Configure Microsoft Authenticator Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): +2 Points
• Connect to SCSU Secure Wi-Fi and install required certificates: +2 Points
• Install and configure the Outlook Mobile App: +1 Point
Following the challenge, IT staff will reveal the answers, discuss common signs of phishing attempts, and explain how to recognize official SCSU communications.
